Premium Automotive Education

Rick Escalambre earned his Bachelor of Arts in Industrial Arts from San Francisco State University. He has been a Professor of Automotive Technology at Skyline College in San Bruno, CA for the past twenty-three years. In addition to teaching Engine Performance related subjects, he coordinates one of the largest and finest automotive programs in the State of California.


Rick previously taught automotive at a local high school, managed a Chevron Service Station, and has owned and operated a general automotive repair business in Concord, CA. For the last nine years he has been Chairperson for the Bureau of Automotive Repair Smog Check Education Advisory Committee.  He is a past president of the California Automotive Teachers (CAT) association.


He is a respected author and editor of books in the field of Engine Performance, Emissions, and Computer Controls.  He has done extensive research of Evaporative Emission Systems, OBD II system operation & diagnosis, and MODE 6 operation. 


The goal of this WEBSITE is to provide information that will help teachers and technicians perform their respective jobs more effectively.

Evaporative Emissions Class

This class will cover EVAP systems in use on OBD II vehicles.  Diagnosis & testing includes smoke machines, other types of equipment, and running a vehicle on the dynamometer to set the  monitor. This class will give you something to use immediately!
